One of Warrnambool’s outstanding architectural features, the Ozone Hotel was destroyed by fire on February 23, 1929. The four storey building was reduced to a blackened shell, damage estimated at 100,000 pounds. (The site is now occupied by the Warrnambool Hotel). This picture shows interested townspeople surveying the damage.

This original Adelaide University building of sandstone construction was erected circa 1879. In 1961 it was named the Mitchell Building in honour of Sir William Mitchell, Adelaide University professor, chancellor and benefactor. [On back of photograph] ‘Adelaide University / Probably in the 1880s

Boag’s Brewery at Launceston

Western Brewery in Timor Street, Warrnambool, next to the savings bank. Notes written on reverse indicate that the building was being used as a firestation in 1961.
